  • If You use KoboRemit services You will need to provide certain information including Your name, address, and email address, as well as the name and other details of the recipients of the money transfers that your instruct us to carry out.
  • You give us other information when filling forms (these include forms to initiate money transfer and inquiry forms on our website), communicating with us via email or phone, or our social media platforms.
  • When You communicate with us physically or electronically, we also keep a record of any mail or email correspondence you send us. This helps us provide You with better customer service and to improve the experience of our customers overall.
  • When You download KoboRemit app from Google Play Store or Apple App Store, we collection information about the type of device and other device specific information for analytics, to help us analyze performance issues related to our Mobile app in order to enhance user experience.
  • Depending on Your preference and settings on KoboRemit Mobile app, You will give us permissions to send you push notifications regarding Your services updates and access Your contact information when initiating a service.
  • When signing up to KoboRemit through social media accounts, whenever possible, You might give us access to information from Your social media accounts. Also, if You interact with us through social media platforms such as LinkedIn, Instagram, X, and Facebook, You may give us access certain information.

How do we keep and protect your personal Information

Your personal information is protected by security safeguards for each level of sensitivity of the information through:

  • organizational measures such as due diligence in transferring personal information to third-party for processing of your transfers;

  • KoboRemit keeps Your personal information provided on Your user profile, transactions record and beneficiary details for the purpose of fulfilling requested services and for record keeping purposes.
  • if You delete Your KoboRemit account, KoboRemit will keep some vital information related to your account for safety, fraud prevention, security, and future references.

How we use your personal information

We collect personal information with the main purpose of providing You with safe, smooth, secure, efficient and customized user experience and to provide the money transfer services you have requested from KoboRemit. Your information collected may also be used to provide access to information on our website. In other words, Your information are used for the following purposes:

  • to register You with a KoboRemit Account for the purpose of accessing our services;
  • to verify your identity in compliance with the Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act (PCMLTFA).
  • to fulfill Your transactions to Your beneficiaries;
  • to send You confirmations regarding Your requested services;
  • for the purpose of ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements such as Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Act 2006 and the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Rules Instrument 2007;
  • to comply with legislative and regulatory requirements in any jurisdiction;
  • to consider and investigate any concerns or complaints you may regarding your KoboRemit account or requested service;
  • to ensure that You are eligible for KoboRemit services as we do not collect personal information from children under 18 nor provide services to them under any circumstances.

How we share your information and with who

While we value the privacy of Your personal information, certain laws may require us to share Your information with regulatory agencies in accordance with regulatory requirements on information confidentiality and privacy. In particular, we may disclose Your personal information to fraud monitoring and prevention agencies whenever we are required to do so. If we suspect fraud, terrorism funding, money laundering, and/or any related illegal activity, as required by law, we may share Your personal information with respective agencies responsible for preventing such illegal financial activities. These agencies may include law enforcement offices, regulatory agencies, and fraud detection and prevention agencies.


Deleting your KoboRemit account

You may request to delete your KoboRemit profile data at any time as you deemed fit. This can be done through the KoboRemit app by going to Account -> Personal Details -> DELETE MY ACCOUNT. If you require any technical support in the process, contact people@koboremit.com or via 647-528-5049.
